How Fracking Has Changed Our Future Part 2

New technology has made fracking safer and better for the environment.

Fracking is certainly a controversial topic, but as new technology and products, like our water treatment process and above ground water storage tanks, become available to minimize and in some cases even eliminate the biggest negative impacts of fracking, we can start looking towards the future. In our last blog, we started giving you the first couple of ways that fracking has changed both the present and the future. Keep reading to learn more:

#3. Dependence on Foreign Oil

Fracking has given us an alternative to oil, which will allow us to greatly reduce our dependence on foreign oil. If we hadn’t been dependent on foreign oil back in 2007, at the start of the Great Recession, we may have been able to avoid the whole disaster completely. While high gas prices were only a part of the problem, they certainly played a big part.

#4. A Bridge to Future Solutions

In the our struggle with climate change, natural gas is a valuable short-term solution that can lead to more sustainable long-term solutions down the road. Natural gas burns cleaner than any other fossil fuel, and while the world may not be ready to give up coal and oil completely for wind turbines and solar energy, natural gas can help to pave the way. The fact of the matter is, the sooner we can stop relying on oil and coal, the better. Natural gas is now more readily available than it has ever been before, and we could easily start taking advantage of it in our vehicles, homes, schools, offices, etc.

We’ve gone over just a few of the many ways that fracking has had a positive impact on our present and our future. If you would like to learn more, please stay tuned for our next blog.
